New GFX Card Suggestions

Well since I started streaming a bit I noticed my driver has been crashing quite frequently but recovers instantly after. I currently run a Nvidia GTX 280. Here are my current specs:

Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.66GHz
6 GB DDR-2 (I believe) Ram
Some 700w psu

I'm looking for a replacement that would work well with this set up as I know the 280 is pretty old now. I'd really like a price from $200-300 but really recommend anything.

Thanks in advance

Edit: Currently looking at a Nvidia 560 TI but it seems to have the same driver issues. Might be looking at a full new mobo ect for a better build

If you don't mind ATI you could look at an HD 6870 or 6950 for 180 to 250 bucks.

I've had HIS, Powercolor, Diamond and all of them have been pretty good for me.

I've got a HD 5770 and love it.

If you don't mind going upto around $320 you could get an HD 6970

And if you get one with Dirt 3, and if you don't like racing games, you could always, oh I don't know, send the code off to someone who helped you pick a nice video card. ;)

560Ti has been good to myself and 3 other mates so far.

I have GTX 275 sometimes happening to me neon while playing FF. I got this problem only FF and Lineage 2.

Here is a recent (Jul 5 2011) list of recommendations by price range from Tom's:

and here are another opinion:

You'll want to make sure to check the power requirements for whatever you're interested in.

+1 SOGs comment about power requirements. Having plenty of headroom there is always a good thing!

I had the fan go out on a HIS card and kill my card

hmm, I have had the same issue for some time now. Only older games will do it, games that do stress the card dont do it. its not overheating too. gtx 470 tho, its quite frustrating to the point i was willing to give ATI annnotther try ..
