I banned him for 100 minutes on the AE server yesterday. Now that I know this is a repeat offender.... I think a see a permaban in the future.

The unconected exploit is very popular with hackers. So if you see them chances are they are up to no good. I check and the above steam ID is already perma banned. :p

Yeah, while as "unconnected" he was doing the old "block some spawns with buildables!" game.

Isn't there a way for the server to check to see if these guys are "unconnected"?

I was reading a bit about it, and I think it says something like it never sends the steam ID. So why not have the server check after say 15 to 30 seconds at most if player number ##### has a valid steamID and if they don't, they get a boot.


I don't know how all that stuff works so i don't know if that would work or not. But if they are on the server then there has to be something there that IDs them so that the server can check.

Maybe the servers can compare a few things. Does someone have an IP address, if they do, do they have a player number, if they don't they get the boot, if they do then it checks for a steamID. If they don't then that player gets the boot.

There just has to be something that can be done to automate the removal of these idiots.

He also did this on the :e0: server when it was nearly full.

We added him to the [o-t] ban list as a precautionary measure last night.
