Fortress Forever has been Greenlit by the community! Thank you to everyone that voted and helped to spread the word about our mod. Being Greenlit was considered something of a long shot, and we are thrilled to see it happen.

What does this mean for FF?

It means that sometime in the future, you'll be able to install Fortress Forever directly through Steam and you will receive updates automatically.

When will that happen?

Unfortunately, this is still something we are trying to figure out. It could be soon, or it could be not soon at all, depending on some information we are still waiting to find out. Sorry to be so ambiguous. Once we get more information, we'll be able to let you know with more certainty what will be happening.

How lovely it would be if all current FF players could comport themselves as gentlemen to welcome the new players I've been seeing on the pubs.

Does this also mean that the dedicated server will eventually show up in steamcmd under its own appid?

Are we gonna get trading cards?

I know this sounds trolly, but it's a sincere question. Trading cards and achievements could potentially do well for the game without affecting gameplay at all.

I think we can do trading cards. Haven't looked into that too much yet. Not sure about achievement support on the 2006 engine; still a lot to figure out in that area.

If possible, trading cards and achievements would, imo, be a great thing. They're (at least partially) one of the reasons a lot of people play the games they do on Steam. Not anyone here I'm guessing, but certainly a decent percentage outside of games like this.

I noticed that the trading cards have a 10% game fee on the market so we might not be able to use em.. or maybe we could opt out and have the fee go to valve
