looking at the wip changelog there have been updates to 8 official CTF maps for 2.4, ranging from admittedly minor tweaking to a complete rebuild. new CTF maps would be nice, yeah, but fixing/improving the current ones to get the most out of them and the work that's gone into them is also important.
ultimately it's about focusing our limited manpower where it can make the biggest difference, and while there are ideas that we think might significantly help existing maps (that are far quicker to do than making a completely new map and ofc all the risks that come with that) that's a good use of time imo. when there are no more blatant things like that to try for existing maps, then i'm hoping to have time to make some new maps though yeah
