Crysis
I just played through the Crysis demo (on High and DAMN is it sexy). I enjoyed the Game... but I'm not a huge fan of sneaking around everywhere. Would you guy recommend getting the full game?

Prolly alot of people that will say tis alright and wait for price to drop, but I'd say go for it. I love Crysis. My current comp can't play it and my comp that could play it died a few months ago, but that's one of the first things I plan on installing as soon as I get my good computer fixt.

Crysis was all right. It's worth it if you want something pretty and don't expect decent storylines or anything other than jaw-dropping visuals. Put a price tag on how much that means to you, and you've got your recommendation.

From what I hear (from real life people), the gameplay is awesome, besides the visuals. Since my new computer can probably handle Crysis pretty well, I'll definitely play it if I happen across a copy of vista.

I liked it despite having to play it on medium settings.

Other than the awesome visuals (you can get to DX10 visuals in XP by tweaking the cfg files), i thought the storyline was pretty decent compared to other games. Gameplay also great, i played MP after i finished the SP and it was enjoyable. i would definately recommend it. |

[SPOILERS!] One level where you kill all the aliens, one gets stuck on top of the hill so you have to jump up a building, find it, and kill it before you can go on. IN the last level when you kill the big freakin thing, the VTOL just hang there doing nothing. |

I only played the demo, you know, the bit where you formulate your opinions on the core of the game, instead of all of it. With everything maxed, I didn't find it that visually pleasing. Sure, the water and the beach were alright, but the trees and so on were depressing, especially after all the rave about Crysis being the best looking game. The storyline is also generic as hell, and the artificial intelligence is worse than some of the AI I've seen in older games. The weapons are horrible too, you're constantly max-speeding and max-armoring across the beach picking up tiny amounts of ammunition, which you require a ton for some reason, because firing single shots directly on a target literally within touching distance takes at least 4-5 pulls of the trigger. It's like there's no with distance comes loss of accuracy and more damage, and vice versa. The accuracy and damage is always the same, no matter the distance. If the demo was this shitty, I can't even imagine the game. Horrible..

So, I played through Crysis and thought it was great, although unexpectedly short compared to Farcry.
It was kinda annoying how many hits all the regular soldiers took to kill, like you'd stand directly in front of some Korean dude and pump a full clip into his head before he died. Also, the game is EXTREMELY linear. In Farcry, you always had to go from point A to point B, but in a lot of cases, you could go around this hill, or through this valley, or through the forest or up the river etc. In Crysis, there's a fixed path which you cannot deviate from by more than 50 feet in either direction. Still though, the graphics are better than any other game, and the mechanics of the suit were effective and fun without being gimmicky, or getting in the way of game play. I'd definitely recommend it.
