DX Level?

On my system
p4 3.0
1 g dual channel ram
256mb Radeon 9800 Pro

FF shows DX Level 8.1 as hardware..
Other source games shows 9.0 as hardware..

What gives?

Err, are you using launch options in your shortcut/steam (launch options being things like -nosound, -dexlevel ##, etc). Though, I guess it doesn't sound like it...

Anyway, try this:

1) Open up steam, and go the my games tab

2) Right click on Fortress Forever and go into properties

3) Click on set launch options, and type this in exactly as is: -dxlevel 90

4) Start up the game. If you'll notice, your resolution should be back to the default. So in order to fix this...

5) Close the game, repeat steps 1 - 3, but erase the -dxlevel 90 line.

6) Reload Fortress Forever, and it should all be fixed.
