Escape from City 17
Holy crap. Just watch it. Found out about this from Steam News. It's a live-action HL2 movie mixing effects from the game and real locations.

Yea, its a pretty cool video. I am wondering when the half-life series is going to be made into a real movie.
Hopefully, there will a few more videos released like this one. I'am glad to see they used the original hl2 sound effects. |

That does look really good.
I think I remember reading an interview with Valve where they said that while they've been approached by writers with many scripts they weren't confident that anyone could portray it the way that they wanted it. It sounded like they weren't looking to make it a movie because they are satisfied with it as a game in story telling technique. But that if someone came along with a good script they would give it thought. Sort like "We're open to the idea... but right now we want to keep making video games." I think it would make a really badass movie, but only if done correctly. |

Actually.... HL1 would make a good movie. HL2 would make a nice Sci-Fi channel TV series.
However, given the lousy writing I've seen for movies and shit for the past decade..... I'm not holding my breath.
