Mirror's Edge

Quote:
Mirror's Edge is an action-adventure first-person sceduled to come out November 11th. There aren't that many people who have heard about Mirror's Edge yet, (Coming to Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Windows) but for those who have they are well aware this is a game to keep their eyes on.
In game vid preview here, as well as some info:

http://www.gamegirl.com/article/7931...-edge-preview/

Even though it's EA, it looks promising.

Yea, I saw that. It looks really cool, and reminds me of Quake/TFC style trick jumping.

Well... that should mean beta testing and free game distribution for those who know this "decs" character!

They released a video now?

Graphics look purty.

*EDIT*
Guys, ready your graphics cards. I bet you the gx2 will be sold out the day the game's released.

Am I the only one who's worried about the statement:

THE FOLLOWING IS ALL IN-GAME FOOTAGE

Because EA has been real honest with that shit before. /=

Even so, can you imagine if they applied this gameplay to a Beyond Good & Evil Game?

OH GOD I JUST CAME.

For all we now, that could've been Quad-SLI'ed gx2's that are overclocked...

I bet you that all that "prettyness" will disappear once people start playing it on 8800 GT's and such...

My fear for this game is that, while it's being touted as being rather wide-open, that it will fall into the trap of having one path that makes sense to take, and many, many other paths that are too difficult/annoying to attempt.
Sort of along the lines of: "Well, you can walk across the bridge filled with candy stores, or stomp through this unmarked minefield..."
I also hope that the gameplay doesn't get stale. There's a lot of potential, but a LOT more room for them to fuck everything up.

Well, it is running on Unreal Engine 3, so it's already demanding right off the bat =/

looks like the kind of game that would get boring extremely fast, but we'll see. would be interesting with a good multiplayer.

It actually has potential to NOT be boring, given different routes and potential for things. However, you're still running and climbing, just like you're still always shooting random things in FPSs.

there's less variability in running and climbing, though. there's only so many ways, I would imagine, that you could jump from building to building. at least you've got the shooter aspect still in it. and if it has a good plot, then I could see it being pretty good. still kind of wary of the game.

I'll probably buy it just to have fun with smacking helicopters with feet... except this time, it would actually be slightly more realistic.

I remember in Quake II, where it was actually possible to beat the last boss with just that Energy Gun thing... And of course, punching the Spider Mastermind to death (Doom II).

GTA? Ride a tank and enjoy the carnage.
