Zombie Master (Source Mod)

Anyone tried it yet?

I know there are like umpty-fucking-thousand Zombie mods for HL2 out there (and God knows why), but this one's fairly interesting.

It's still decidedly beta, but the gameplay is mostly there. All but one player works as a Survivor - trying to complete objectives in the map, or just survive against the Zombies. The left-out player serves as Zombie Master, going into RTS mode and manipulating spawn points and triggers within the map to spawn zombies, trigger traps, or otherwise halt the Survivors' progress.

My biggest concerns with it are hit detection, which seems non-existant at times (point-blank shotgun blasts sometimes kill in one hit, sometimes do no damage at all, and this is on a LAN), and zombie animations. They use zombie rigs from the game, bound to regular civilian models with retextures, so sometimes they just slide from place to place instead of walking/running/whatever.

So basically.. have any of you tried it?

I've yet to play a game online, but I did a LAN with some friends of mine, one of which is a colossal RTS junkie, and he really seemed to enjoy playing as Zombie Master, so there's some definite appeal there. Once I got my head wrapped around it, ZM actually is quite a bit of fun to play as.

Awkward ending ho!
