Now that question's pointless. The laser questions are far less so.

I didn't want to post this just for the sake of argueing, but had to correct that statement. Green lasers are being used on real life sniper rifles. They have greater range and more visible in daylight. I do agree to keep the TFC laser red however. I just like it that way. LOL |

why wonder about the dot at all ? If there is a dot in a clanmatch it belongs to the enemy team because _noone_ in your team would even dream about considering to play sniper in a serious match ^_^

^ Woot for ignorance.
JellyBird: what's got you confused, there? It's a pretty basic question.

Hum! The idea does sound weird.
I can't really imagine what it would be like until i experience it in game. But it has it's advantages and disadvantages either way. Although I don't really think it would make much difference anyway, because when you see a red laser dot you tend to know whether it be the enemy or from your team. I'm not on any sides yet, as i can't really decide. |

WIth team colored dots, tons of tactical options for the sniper are eliminated. P.S. Rebos post was a little ambiguous. He just said 'Team colored lazer dots'. I'm hoping that this is just some misunderstanding. |

people still on their yarddm trip?
I see no disadvantage with team colored dots as long as you are not sniping on yard. I say citius, altius, fortius. And with such an attitude a sniper yarding into the back is a matter of few seconds |

Where else would you snipe? Prime example of why I DON'T like this: On 2fort, it's a LOT of fun to sneak over to the other team's battlements and camp in the corner, with the dot on your batts. The enemies come out, not seeing a dot that belongs to you, and then you blow them to hell.
So long to that tactic. I don't see any advantages gained from teamcolored dots that actually MATTER, versus the disadvantage here. |

Etzell just expresed my concern on the metter in allmost exact words i used in the IRC channel with the exeption of that i used Well as an example.. Circuituuuz can vouch fur zat.
So that either means Etzell was in the FF channel aswell and i didn't notice him, or the "confusion" is ummm.. more wide spread, cuz me and Etzell are not the same (he worships satan). So umm is there any logic behind this other then "Team coloured lazer dots"? |

I dont see a prob with trying it out, Im not so sure its a good idea though, and i'd personally miss the red laser dot. Also you've got to take into account the varying visibility of the different colours i.e would red be a lot easier to target with than blue, or indeed yellow(im assuming the snipers on hunted will be the yellow team again)

If you want to find out about the advantages and disadvantages of teamcolored sniperdots, try Weaponsfactory for Quake 2. It had some really odd features (good old railgun-grenades... And the new mercenary class with stinger rockets to intercept the jetpack-scout... REALLY odd features for a TF-like game, but you could still see that it's tf-like...) but the only really usefull feature was the colored sniperdots...
