This forum is in need of something not boring and lame to talk about.
Check this out: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.ph...AFEA9B36CFF782 That is a song from a band that Led Zeppelin opened for a few times in their first year. Skip ahead to 40 seconds or so, and you'll probably recognize the guitar part. |

FT: PM me your msn so i can send you a decent copy of a few songs from that live set. i recorded the whole set on a multitrack HD recorder. -also- http://www.myspace.com/sonofrobot this guy went to my college. he rocks all the jocks' socks in a box. |

I really digg sonofrobot that guy really got attitude.
I unfortunatly have to say that noelprior gets me a bit disgusted, probably because of the kooks. They are such a poseur band, and them having vaguely a same sound they remind me of them :P |

poseur? the kooks? get out!
too many differences between the two bands to list in full, but here's a few * noel doesnt use electric guitars * noel doesnt use plecs * the vocals are a totally different style * so is the music |

The kooks have stupid lyrics they feel like theyre trying to have something to say when they dont. Their chords are to much influenced by their obvious msuic education theyre trying to sound to harmonical and jazzy again it feels like theyre trying to be something theyre not. And the singing lacks cowbell at times. Theyre still good but they feel poseuriee... And sure there are diffrence between them two but i said they vaguely remind me of the kooks making me disturbed, Much like some bands have that "to clean dist" which makes it sound to american, leading me to vaguely remember good charlotte and such stupid bands.

Been rather enjoying this song (though I prefer the remix by Combichrist):
Angelspit - 100% Dip my tail in blood ink Write it down in red Scribe the words "Happy meal" Right across your head Tired of getting walked on Treated like a sheep Don't blame me for all the years That you were asleep ** Relax God is in control Watch the dot Take your meds Obey my demands Trust my dog Time for surgery Relax God is in control Watch the dot Take your meds Obey my demands Trust my dog Shut your eyes you're dead ** Televised mass poison Spitting at the screen Keep the masses deluded With fabricated dreams Powdered God in a bag From the Vatican I want you to fuck off As hard as you can [Chorus] Heaven has burst open Now it's raining bones The chaos will erode you Breeding little clones Born of a fallen rib From the monkey's womb Overcooked by cathode rays Evolved to consume 100% [4x] Eating from the butcher's slab Becoming what they meet Restrained and roasted while they gorge Strapped into the seat Bathing in your arrogance Dining will ensue God made me a cannibal To fix problems like you [Chorus] 100% [2x] Last time was the last time... This time, you're 100% [3x] Last time was the last time... This time, you're 100% fucked |

Some really surprising new stuff from Ratatat just came out, really cool tunes, good headphone music...turntablelab review:
R E V I E W After we listened to about half of this new Ratatat album here in the office, The Commish leaned over to me and said: "Man, I keep waiting for a whiny indie rock male vocalist to come in! This is great!" Indeed, the duo's new is a pleasant listening experience from front to back – clean, synthy and instrumental, sounding alternately like the soundtrack to the lost level of Castlevania and… uhh, one of those video game song cover bands on Kill Rock Stars. I know you've probably seen these dudes (all bearded and indie rock) and read reviews about how they're so "infectious" and "dancey," but honestly this is just some nice ass headphone music with a steady beat and a mellow temperament. Even the single, "Wildcat(1)" (which makes me think of Eli Cash), isn't super-hype – but it's more than suitable for a little downtempo mixtape/set where you wanna add a little excitement. Tracks like "Swisha(2)" prove Ratatat's worth by swapping out any notion of danceability for a gorgeous, lush spaghetti western update. "Lex(3)" and "Tropicana(4)" show a bit of bombast for the usually restrained pair. Maybe I'm not explaining this well, or making it sound a bit boring… but it's not. For really real. A solid indie LP in a time when solid indie LPs are increasingly hard to come by. 10 tracks; 42 minutes. |
