X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Just finished watching it and I have to say I am impressed. It was very interesting and answered a lot of questions I had from the previous movies. Did anyone else see this yet and if so what was your thoughts?
Side note: I am sure Marvel is having a shit-fit right now lol. |

I have yet to see it*
But I think it looks really bad. Perhaps "cool" with badass action and such, but they sort of butt fuck the time line for the sake of action and cool characters. I'll hold off being sure of that until after I watch it. But right now that's my biggest fear. Probably wont see it in theaters. |

I am excited about the fact that they cast Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, my favorite superhero. Hell, he's pretty much the only superhero I remotely like.
So long as they didn't fuck up Deadpool, I don't really care either way. Some people I know have seen the movie. They're real die-hard comics fans and have done a lot of nitsy picksy about the movie. It'll probably come out alright.

Looking forward to the movie. Am afraid though that they didn't follow the comic story again (*GASP* *SUPRISE*). Bit suprised about the stuff I saw in the trailer though... Wolv with boneclaws... heh...

Well I try to play things safe when it comes to these sorts of things. I look at writer and director combos and see if I like the things they've done. Let's face it, it's nice when they follow the comic book story, but not always possible. As long as it's good and holds its own, then I think most people are satisfied. The writer attached to this movie seems to have a good track record: David Benioff The Kite Runner (2007) (screenplay) Stay (2005/I) (written by) Troy (2004) (screenplay) 25th Hour (2002) (novel) (screenplay) The only downside to him is that those movies are it. He's inexperienced. My reason for raising that as a concern is that while I have liked everything I've seen from him, I haven't "loved" it (although I haven't seen Kite Runner and I hear it's very good). With a low level of experience he can be... errr "bullied" into adding things that may not exactly be right. Like Wolverine fighting in the Civil War. There's a shot of that in the trailer. It doesn't make sense, doesn't follow the comics and isn't needed in a story line, so I wonder why exactly is it in the movie? Doesn't mean it will be bad, but It's irking me. Director on the other hand: Gavin Hood Rendition (2007) Tsotsi (2005) ... aka Thug (International: English title: literal English title) "W pustyni i w puszczy" (2002) TV mini-series W pustyni i w puszczy (2001) ... aka In Desert and Wilderness (International: English title) ... aka Stas and Nel Adventures (USA: informal English title) A Reasonable Man (1999) The Storekeeper (199 I actually haven't heard of or seen any of these. ... or of the director. I can't say anything to his quality, but generally when I find someone that has made many things and I've never heard of them it's a bad sign. There are of course exceptions as I haven't seen everything and there are certainly a great deal of things that I haven't seen that are very good. That said, I am not confident enough to look forward to this movie, mostly out of fear of disappointment, because I love the character. But now you get to understand why I'm so damn ambivalent about movies. |

I saw this the other week... I won't spoil anything but I've read the comics, watched the cartoon... this movie was absolute shit. The lack of special effects is what actually made me get through it because they were hilarious. If you love Deadpool... you will hate this.

Soooooo.... I saw it. Didn't care for their "Deadpool", though Wade Wilson was alright. Overall decent movie.

I friend of mine showed me the leak... I personally found the movie imposible to follow and quite BAD. Maybe if I spend the last 22 years reading comics I would have liked it more?

I've never read any xmen comics- what little background info I had dealt with the previous 3 movies, and shows when I was a kid.
I didn't find it very hard to follow. :/ |

*Still haven't seen it*
But it looks like what they did (looks is referring to reviews and trailers) is throw a crap ass story together with big budget effects an insane looking action scenes to distract your average viewer from seeing how mediocre the story was. This thought is keeping me from paying money for it. I don't like it when production studios take a franchise that's good and then make a new movie as cheaply as they can send lots of money on advertising and just profit as much as they can. It kind of sickens me a little. |

I've been reading that the game looks pretty fun. I think I'll be trying it rather than rushing to catch the movie.
