Right now you can be pretty effective with HWGuy but you have to position yourself in the right spot. The most important thing is to spin the ac most of the way up so you are doing good damage. At first I was tapping fire right away and that's no good. It's better to kill the enemy and overheat than to not do enough damage.

Any time I need to stop firing the AC and move I'll switch to shotgun so I can do damage instantly and without stopping. If I run into an enemy and I have the time for the spinup of course I'll switch back to ac.

We're working on a non-overheat system for the HW not because he's too weak, but because a lot of people think the overheat system is too annoying. The 1.0 HW was overpowered, the 1.1 HW was underpowered due to a bug, but the 1.11 HW was about right effectiveness-wise.

it just seems like a bitch trying to kill a scout with him where i can see the blood coming off him but the scout is still moving

Well, if it means anything to you, sYn will be using an HW during the first week of UGC. The map is monkey. He's extremely effective if used right. He'll be teetering on OP with the new system.

No, Pyro is the best class in the game underwater. You're just not playing him right.
