Odd maneuver I found: Tap-Running

I'm not quite sure if this is all that useful, but while doing it you do appear to be running faster, and if you use hud_speedometer you can clearly see your ground speed is reaching bhop levels. Though I'm not sure if it's just displaying "buffered" momentum from the key taps or not. Try it for yourself and see what you think.

I tried with Medic so far, but should apply to any class: Run forward as you would if you were playing CS or something (W key default ), then alternate between tapping both strafe keys (A and D) quickly. If you have hud_speedometer set to 1, you should see your speed rapidly reach the low 400s, and with practice you can do it in a second or so. If you hug a wall while doing it (I'm sure everyone knows you move faster while near a wall), the momentum increase happens even sooner.

I tried doing the lower-bridge-to-cap-point run in ff_well, and apart from the screen wobbling/jittering like crazy and the overall silliness of movement, I really did feel I was going quicker.

Works in HL1 games as well. I have always called it the wiggle walk.

We will patch this out immediately. Do dont want these 'bugs' in the mod. This kind of thing makes the game a joke. Elite players shouldnt be able to get an advantage by the use of exploits.

After all the complaining, it has been decided that movement speeds will be reduced to 75% of their current value, bhopping will be removed, concs will no longer give players a boost, rockets will autoaim and snipers are to be completely removed from the game.

And pyros will be able to charge up their flamethrower to create a lightsaber-like effect.

Are you going to remove grenades altogether, give medics a healing gun and make everything cartoony?

We could even change the name to something that old TF players can recognize as a sequal.. maybe.. TF part 2 or something along those lines.

Yep. In TFC If you turn with the mouse so you do a half circle or even a constant circle the play model will run slightly faster. Do the same while walking and the play model will do a slow run. It even happens just holding forward.

I knew because was in third person at the time. Probably wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

Yep, but there's also a cap that's been implimented.

Plus, if "wiggle walking" allows speeds of the capped bhop while walking, then bhop becomes kind of pointless.
