Now if only they had a faster form of communication; right now if we were to send man to Mars there would be a 16 minute lag between the time a message leaves Mars to the time it reaches Earth.

I suppose interplanetary TF matches would be simply out of the question.

I am a bit rusty on my Physics Leandros, but how will relays get around the physical limit of how fast radio waves travel?

Even if you did something like use laser-based communication, it will still take 40 minutes round trip (roughly). That is a ping of 2,400,000, for you gamers. d:
