[release] ff_concmap_eu

Quote:
ff_concmap_eu - ported, retextured and slightly re-mapped version of the TFC map concmap_eu

by Lt Llama
Original version made by [ConC]Renegade-u|c-|Ap|-zG-
Created: 2008-10-25

MAP DESCRIPTION:
The map has 27 jumps. One for each of the countries in the European Union.
The map can be played with quad as soldier, demoman or pyroman or as medic and scout as concers or you
can just chill out on the Plaza as civilian.

The mini game on the plaza is the game "Petanque" or "Boule" or for UK people known as "Bowles".
As an old petanque and HL player I wanted to try and get some sort of Petanque working in FF.
It sort of works but the physics of the balls make them a little random .
Read the instruction on the wall on the plaza to see how its supposed to be played.

The museum conscists of map pics from each of the jumps from the TFC version of concmap_eu.
Click any pic to be teleported to that jump.

ORIGINAL VERSION:
Most concmap remakes for FF are remakes of "old classics", meaning maps that are 6-8 years old.
The original TFC concmap_eu was made by [ConC]Renegade-u|c-|Ap|-zG- in 31st of may 2008, so it is quite new.
It became instantly very popular in TFC because it was perfectly balanced for the medium
skilled player's level. Quite overplayed, and very addictive.

DEDICATION:
[ConC]Renegade-u|c-|Ap|-zG- is one of the few active TFC concers left from the period when
"skillz" was as biggest in TFC. And he has been doing a little of everything for the community.
Not just beating the hardest concmaps, but also mapping and avi making and collecting conc guild tags .

Personally I couldnt think of anymore appropriate concmap to port than concmap_eu.
It is a map that shows what concing has boiled down to in TFC. It is not insanelly hard and yet
challenging, it has a lot of jumps and it is "clean" and functional in the design.

So my #1 dedication goes to [ConC]Renegade-u|c-|Ap|-zG-.

THANKS TO ALL BETA TESTERS:
Xecuter - Who was the first to beat it as concer
FatboyJaxx - Who had to eat when he reached j27 as solly .
Galdur - Who was the first to beat it as demoman and pointed out that spamming the end zone should be prevented
Paft - Who joined me in a game of Petanque
Turbowolf - Who felt at home in Spain

MAP DOWNLOAD FROM EUROSKILLZ (might not work for you)

One thing I can't fix is the hit force from the crowbar and umbrellas.
If anyone know how to fix lua so the civvies can hit the balls harder it would be much appreciated. I tried changing the physics of the prop_physics_override for the balls (reskinned concs), but didnt work.

Yea, map is huge, sorry for that. I like lights . At least i didnt compile with HDR.

The Hammer source files will be released at a later point, both the TFC and the FF version. We want more concmaps so anyone interested can have a look how to do it.

Map is running on

ISSUES SO FAR

* Texture alignment problem in end room
* Texture missing in end room
* Sometimes you end up under water even if there are tele triggers there
* No grenade refills for pyros. They need it to be able to finish some jumps
* To weak umbrellas and crowbar when playing petanque
* Pic of jump21 in museum shows wrong message and doesnt teleport
