dustbowl mostly, ill release a beta of thecove once i can get a tutorial on what to do. some said it would be easier and more streamlined than the tfc way...bs

Avanti style Attack Defend Tutorial

If I get back to mapping I hear there's a shortage of Attack and Defend maps, and I'd love to contribute one. I'm not going start converting mine though until someone posts a tutorial on Avanti or Cornfield with LUA code and explanations. Thanks for any Help!

This is why I've one of the things I've been pushing for is example maps like in the Source SDK.

Yeah, we have ff_dev_ maps, like ff_dev_ctf, but most of them are oriented more towards reference tools for experienced mappers. I was thinking more along the lines of pure, simple example maps - dev textures and fully commented Lua code.

Any interest in this idea?

And in response to gator, i'd like to see a tutorial featuring step-by-step instructions (and pretty pictures) for making a bare-bones map CTF featuring:

* Working teamspawns
* Working one team doors
* Working Flags and caps

and the bare-basics of making a runnable map.... pwease?

And when people want to make something other than a base_ style of play?

I know how to make a three-team CTF game, but could a newbie do it by solely referring to the Lua? I don't think so...
