Can't seem to run some demos
This is a little weird. Some demos I can play some I can't. All have been recorded after I installed 2.0 so its not a version incompatibility.
Here is the file name style I have been using to help me remember when something was done. ff_2_0_2008_02_19_03_2 FF = Fortress Forever 2_0 = version number 2009 = year 02 = month 19 = day 03 = the number of times I have closed down FF and then started recording on the same day. 2 is the number thats tacked on by the demo record when the server switches maps. I've tried making the name smaller thinking it was a problem but that wasn't it. When I try to run a demo this is what I see. http://gwarsbane.mektek.net/ff/hl2_2...5-01-21-68.jpg http://gwarsbane.mektek.net/ff/hl2_2...5-01-24-43.jpg When I hit resume game, all I get is a black screen. When I first start to load up the demo it does seem to try to run, but then nothing. It really sucks if I can't get to these to work cause some of the footage was really good and I was going to make a couple of new videos with them. Any suggestions would be great. |

Well no one seems to have an answer for this, but I did find a work around, though it is annoying but it does seem to work.
Go into the maps like usually and record your first demo. It should work no problem. Then when the map is about to change, stop your demo, exit the server, and exit the game. Go right to your desktop. Then start FF up again, and try to get back onto the server you were just in again (or another one) and then start the server up again. Its annoying but it seems to work. |

Yes. Most the time if you don't stop your demo before the round is over, it will be corrupt.

What credge said - i'd wager the problem is demos spanning multiple rounds, or the client automatically recording new demos on mapchange.
