The first desktop and most of the others with special features are most likely created in samurize or some other software like it.

You can get it at www.samurize.com

it basically allows you to modify your desktop in all manner of ways, displaying harddrive space etc. the possibilities are never ending if you know your way around programming. But for us other sods there are numerous of these plugins etc available for download on the samurize site, just browse through that site some and you'll soon have the hang of samurize in all it's glory.

Mine is done with Aston Shell google it. And the theme is the only working Matrix theme in their theme list. Aston is the most stable shell I've used so far. It doesn't have a huge learning curve either. Problem is I suck at making graphics.
