Black Mesa, New & Improved!

Hello and welcome once again to another Black Mesa news update!

The Black Mesa team is proud to announce that we've been purchased by EA! Early in February an EA representative contacted us regarding a possible deal. After a short round of negotiations, we agreed to merge with EA and take orders from the company regarding the development of Black Mesa. Obviously we are VERY excited to be sponsored and we know this is really going to take Black Mesa off the ground!.............

Well, jon and jesse threatened to quit because EA required us to strip out all of our Lua code. EA said it was too "open." Also, they wanted us to remove two classes and have them purchaseable as micro-transactions.

with the changes EA wanted from us.. some embraced the changes, others not so well. There is a bit of an upheaval going on behind the scenes that not many are aware of.

Interesting that EA is getting into a mod that runs on Valve. Forgive my ignorance but is this a first? EA stuff tied to a Valve platform?

But I was thinking... did it get released!!!? And was getting all excited to go get a 12 pack and sit down and turn the lights off and re-enter the Black Mesa Fascility smashing head crabs....

Ah well. Guess I'll go buy Tf2 instead!

OK, well now I think thats a sell-out move. EA doesn't deserve that shit, now im going to have to buy BM:S? fuck that. It's lost its flavor already.

edit: oh shit, its april fools. I fell for it today finally. Thank god, I was so pissed for a while.

That is an oxy moron statement. If EA did buy BM, you would never get to buy BM. Your great grand kids might, but you wont. BM would disappear into the world of vaporware, kinda like duke nukem forever.
