Based on the plot of the first game, but with a few minor changes... looks good imo. Thank god Uwe Boll didn't touch it.

the video game industry has been pretty much immune to the economic recession. video game companies are still making lots of profits while other industries, incliding film, are fighting to stay alive. so the film industry is hoping that by making movies based on video games, they will be able to get a piece of the video game profit-pie. of course, theyre going to fail, but its worth a shot.

There's an even bigger glut of movies based on comic books. Hollywood is always searching for "new" material it can then drive into the ground.

Honestly, the last few years would seem to suggest that Hollywood is out of new and fresh material...remake central..

Honestly, I think Max Payne could be an awesome movie depending on how it's done.

Edit: Just watched it...lmao...Mark Wahlberg huh? Fresh off the success of the straight to DVD The Happening 2: Revival of the Funky Bunch... I swear...he erased anything good he's ever done with that movie....

mark wahlberg is actually not a bad actor. he was good in four brothers and great in i <3 huckabees and the departed. i cant really think of anything ive seen that he was bad in.

I get a little less edgy when they pick games that have any possibility of making a good movie, like Max Payne. Actually, it's probably one of the best choices for a Movie adaptation.

Not like, you know, Dungeon Siege.

Anyway, from the preview, I'm not totally horrified, which means they're doing better than average.

I think Deus Ex would be a great movie if it were done right. Unfortunately I think it would have to be multiple movies to do the storyline justice. Just too many branches to the plot that would deserve attention.

I think Vin Diesel should be Gunther... No clue who should be Anna Navarre though...Milla Jovovich?

Considering it's probably my fav game of all time... this could be a whole thread. What about Tracer Tong?

Mila may be a good fit for Anna, but I want Julliet Lewis to play her in a scimpy outfit even though it may have fit 12 years ago, but
not now.

I'm having a hard time with JC or Paul. I gave no thought to Manderly or DuClaire. I was thinking maybe Jason Statham for JC just because of the voice...sorta...like I said...I'm having a hard time.
