UT3?

Are there still a lot of people playing UT3?
Steam has all the UT games for 20 bucks or just UT3 for $10.

Worth it?

I'm not sure how big the UT3 community is right now, but I do know that the UT2k4 community is still bigger than the UT3 community it is.

When I get my power supply in the next few weeks, I'll be rejoining the UT3 community though.

When ever I look for the UT2k4 Server, they are all nearly dead. Only about 3 active servers...

As a member of the UT3 community, I would absolutely recommend buying the game for the ten bucks.

While the community is somewhat small, UT3 is by no means dead. As far as pub play goes, you'll usually see ~300 players in peak hours on normal days (currently there are way more than that due to the holidays - 570 at this moment).

We also play the occasional pickup and some semi-regular events.

Finally, there is the modding contest, Make Something Unreal, with a lot of quality custom content being made.

Actually small communities are better then big ones. I wish my system was capable of running this game...

While we're on the subject, why did the UT99 Sniper Rifle have such a high probability of getting headshots? There have been multiple times where I shot a bot with a no-scope sniper rifle, but the game somehow thought I got a headshot, even though my crosshair was aimed at the middle of the body.

The UT99 sniper rifle fires in a cone as wide as that of the heavy's AC in team fortress. It's not a well-designed weapon since it's so random. The 2k3, 2k4 and UT3 equivalents are much better, as they actually have pinpoint accuracy.

Ah, UT2K4 is my nostalgia of '04. Went to this one internet cafe and we were like a big community. We'd have lock-ins and have tournaments for UT2K4 on instagib. Most of the time my team would usually win. I dominated on instagib... good times.

I have UT3. Impressive, but I can hardly play it with good fps with my 7800 GS. Once I have upgraded hardware I'll be back into it.

7950GT here, so my PC also struggles at times to run it, I'm kinda used to playing with low fps though.
