Omg. Dunno whats going on. OK, its a cheap ripoff, but:
if you buy CSS and install source sdk-guess what comes digitally to visit your harddisk? de_cbble.vmf. So taking and porting it is quite cheap but not really a rip. Theres is no hacking, decompiling hexediting or anything ugly needed. Just load it in hammer, modify it and compile the map. Not bad, ugly, evil or anything I think, but back to topic. After own3rs post I deleted the map and now -after compiling it again- FF crashes and shows the F***ing engine error Need to take a closer look at the map tomorrow, Ill keep you informed. cbble is a class A map and would be very nice for a FF hunted scenario (my opinion) |

If he doesn't claim it as his, I don't see the problem. Its going to happen and it may be fun. Kind of a sort of respect to the original mappers if people want to port their map to other mods.

I have some reservations about the idea of a hunted map. I just don't know if the layout of cobble will lend itself well to that map type; I feel that a lot of the indoor areas would favor the BG team while the massive outdoor area(s) would be instant death for the man in blue. I think a modified version of the map (add in some passages, maybe a bit more actual area as well) could be good though. Meh, just my two cents.
However, for all you "omg rip-off" people, have you forgotten what mod you're playing? Not that FF is a rip-off, I'm not foolish enough to think that making this mod was easy, but it is more or less a port. |

News from ff_cbble: I found out that point_viewcontrol crashed the map, this Entitiy seems to be a bit buggy - I removed and it and set up some info_intermission Entys, they do almost the same job. More technical stuff: prop_physics_multiplayer react oddly in FF, you can damage them (woodbarrels) but you can also walk through them. I can fix it easily by replacing with prop_physics, but that wont be good for the performance. -The sky for the first test release is stormydays. cbble sky doesnt work (yet) Gameplay: Hunted escape is @ T-Spawn redspawns are @ CT-Spwan yellowspawn are @ 2. bombspot ( and 4+4 near hunted escape. We will have to see how this constellation works ingame -The light in the small tunnel between CT&Bombspot is gone. I put 2 new lights in there, will prolly look a bit different than cs_cbble, but works for the moment. -Fixed bug "the flying box" of cs_cbble -1 outdoor texture (ground) is replaced - my personal taste -I will try to inject all needed textures and modells in the bsp, but I dont know if MapAnalyst is clever enough. So if something is missing, plz drop me a line. Concerning copyright and respecting rights of the creators: I think about creating an opening screen with credits on it. Something like: ################# FF_cbble Based on DE_Cobble for Counterstrike Originally by DaveJ (dv@btinternet.com) and textures by MacMan (MacManInfi@aol.com) Mapsource and textures are taken from DE_CBBLE for CSS recreated by Valve ################### OK? Got to save CPUtime for the compiler, DL-Link will be posted here in a few minutes. Nuff said, DL Some lats notes concerning rip-offs: There are still some very old textures & sounds in it, in "halflife" subfolder, looks like Valve itself ripped the map from the original de_cbble for counterstrike 1.5, hehe. Thats because valve owns all rights to Counter-strike.
You need permission before you release this. Even with the "all credit goes to original mapper or valve loalaozlol", you need permission. Hey look over there! It's YOU NEED PERMISSION. |

Dont panic. Email to valve is already sent. Wating for answer.
I dont think they will be so picky about porting a map from one hl2 mod to another, that good for their business. Lets see what happens, DL |

Because it may interest someone into possibly trying the game that the original map was linked to?

@Doc.Lulle
Hey doc, you planning on porting/remaking any VIP maps from CS, like oilrig, over to FF? I dunno if it will be worth the while, but CS VIP maps are identical to hunted type maps for FF and TF mods. And since VIP usually gets a pistol, hows about giving the civ the tommy gun? LOL. |

I think Valve is pissed off at FF for releasing before TF2, thus not granting you the permission to use that map..
There was times when no-one was allowed to post messages on valve forums about team fortress type mods. |
