Installer Skipping files?

If you run into the installer skipping files, delete your clientregistry.blob.

Mine is located here: D:\Games\Steam\ClientRegistry.blob

Yours may be located in a different place. The steps:

Close Steam

Delete ..\Steam\ClientRegistry.blob

Restart Steam

Reinstall.

Should fix the issue

"from zip"? the client install does not come in a zip package. If you have a zip you likely got the windows server package.

My installer was also skipping files.
This was because I hadn't updated my steam with the latest update... so u might want to update it, and restart steam, and then it might work like a charm

I'm facing the same problem. Deleting ClientRegistry.blob didn't help for me. Seems like I have to reinstall my whole steam.

having read the forums i understand the .blob fix worked for some, but like many of the above posters and myself, it did not work for me despite numerous alterations and tries. any other solutions? better yet, give us a .zip?

I'm still in the same boat here too.

It skips all the files during the install and installs the shortcut indicating that you need to restart Steam, so the install appears successful to someone not paying attention to the messages.

I have Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I tried running this as a normal user and an administrator. I followed the directions from MrBeefy twice (to verify it wasn't user error). I have not removed and reinstalled Steam yet, but I doubt it is desired that users go to that extreme to install FF.

If there's some other information I can provide to help out lemme know.
