CTF Map Ideas

These are just a couple ideas I had for future CTF maps:
  • Seperated Bases - Build a base that leads to a midmap + cap point and thats it. Build another base just like that for the opposing team and make a one-way teleporter from each base to the cap point. In a sense, there is no direct way to the enemy base unless you are strictly going offense. This also stops offense vs. offense.
  • Front Door Lasers - For the above idea, put lasers at each front door that kill THAT team's players. This will stop midmapping completely from defense and offense will never have to go through their own door anyway. LUA script the lasers to go down when offense enters any area of the midmap with the flag, lasers go back up when it's capped/flag returns.
  • Skill Routes - Alternate routes in maps are great, but why not have one that is a little more rewarding. Maybe a tunnel in the top of the enemy base that you have to conc/blast up to that leads straight to the flag room? Up to you how to do this.

If I could map for source, I would do it myself. I hope someone can try these out and see how they work in a full server.

I don't want to hear how this is focused towards league players, elitists, etc... These would probably be league specific anyway since they enforce the rules on their own.
