What headphones do you guys own, and recommend?

My headphones are broken once again; only one side works. So, as a birthday gift to myself, I want to buy a new pair.

I started off with the Aiwa headphones that came with my cd player (which I also used for gaming) until my mum accidentally sucked them up with the vaccuum cleaner. They were the behind the ear headband kind.

After that, I'd tried Seinnheiser, Sony, and Panasonic. I hadn't found any that I liked, until I bought a pair of $14 Sony over the head headphones. They were pretty damn good- surprised me with their low bass response, and no crackling either.

But those are broken now. Are there any that you guys would recommend? I think Bose is out of the question.. I've only been looking at the mid range $39 headphones, like those black Sony DJ style headphones- MDRV150 and the newer MDRXD200 (http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/ser...0n100128n45542). The problem is though, the second of the two are ginormous, and the cables ginormously long. But I guess I could resolder them or tie them up.

Anyways, I was hoping for any reviews of the above mentioned, recommendations, or "Stay away from these" kinda things.

Thanks!

Mine is similar to this http://www.alteclansing.com/product_...asp?pID=AHS515 but it looks different. Mine has different padding on the arch that goes on your head(as in the padding'd around the arch, not below it) and the ears look different, but other than that, it's the same and it's excellent.

I've got what came with my iPod. They're pretty solid for 10 dollar headphones, but then theres a couple hundred for an iPod attatched to that.

I wouldn't recommend those headphones if you have large or sensitive ears. My brother as a pair that I have used occasionally, and after about a year of use the padding has compacted a little, and the foam on the inside of the headphone pushes my ear back quite uncomfortably and my ears are sore afterward. Otherwise, they are great headphones for the money, great bass that can take a little time to get used to.

If you care about sound quality then basically i'd tell you to stay the fuck away from Bose (loads of $$ for POS build quality and sound), Logitech (what do they know?) and most Alteclansing... I also wouldn't recomend to experiment with Sony and Panasonic. Sony has some good models but they're expansive.

Here's a site with some good shit. It's hard to go wrong with the models listed there. http://www.headphone.com/products/headphones/

For the rest of you noobs (FrenchToast etc..) if you wanna hear how good your music can sound for fucking cheap, buy those http://www.headphone.com/products/he...oss-ksc-75.php

And if you want a headset for gaming i'd recommend this http://www.sennheisercommunications....T05_Pro-Gaming

Hm, I noticed that all these have microphones on them. I don't think I need that feature though, because I have a mic anyways.

Not that I'm going to be playing any games either, and I have a minisystem for home, so it's just music on my cd player. Do you guys use these when you listen to your music?

Yeah, unless I'm listening to my mp3 player then I have some cheap headphones from wal-mart/target that wrap behind the ear but have two seperate peices for each ear. I've also noticed no drop in sound quality from other headphones and headsets that I've tried, in fact I'v found that the ones I have now have better sound quality then the other headphones and headsets I've had.

"Holy sshh- 79 bucks for those ear pieces?!" I thought.

But then I saw the brand, so. If they are availiable for cheaper.. Then I'll keep eyes and ears open- but I'm not actually a big fan of earbuds.

As for Koss, well I'll keep a lookout for them too. I just remembered that those kinds of headphones actually existed nowadays. Though I'm not sure I really trust them anymore. I got a cdplayer from them and so far I've returned it three times. They just ended up sending me a different model. So here's some advice, don't buy any Koss cd players unless it came as a gift.

Thanks guys, but keep 'em coming.. I like reading about these things.

PS: Mesc, that wasn't there before and you know it. :P

Meh, I never really gave a crap about the sound quality. It sounds good enough to me, it's comfortable, it has a nice mic, and it's open on the sides so I don't sweat.
