Firefox 3.6 with a bunch of extensions, the 2 most important ones though, noscript and adblock.

Reason. 3.6 is all I need, it can view everything I access. Also since running Firefox with noscript and adblock I have not had 1 single drive by infection from a webpage unlike all the ones I kept getting while using IE.

Though I did read something about they stopping support for 3.6 this year sometime so it might actually force me to upgrade.

I think what they are doing with all these higher number updates is just silly. At most it should be sitting at 3.9 or 4.05 not version 8 or 9 or what ever they are at now. I think really all they are trying to do is make themselves not look so young by bringing their version number up to match all the others that are out there.

Company I work for does not support 3.6, but that's because 3.6 is two years old, even though they still do updates to it. Any reason why you're not going to 8?

I use Firefox because it supports AdBlockPlus.

Can't surf the web without it.

Hey Gwar, try AdBlockPlus instead of AdBlock, it works on the latest Firefox

This is why I like the "firefox/gnome/various other linux apps" approach; they use a sort of "red pill/blue pill" approach. You get a menu of herp derp options from the gui, and about:config or the command line if you wan't to actually do anything.
but the app might not and probably isnt open source! but ya i agree with what you're saying

it is!!

http://anyremote.sourceforge.net/

I control my whole house entertainment system with this and x10. It's linux based and hugely configurable. Anything you can play on a PC gets directed anywhere in my house and controled from my phone/laptop/x10 remote. It my personal piece of nerdart.

I've been using Firefox since 2005 (after switching from, ugh, IE6). I've never had a reason not to. I love the addons, and I always stay up to date (which, of course, means you have to lose some of those precious addons along the way).

Chrome is good, but it didn't offer me anything that I don't have already.

It just doesn't actually offer me any reason to upgrade. My Firefox is fast enough. Takes seconds to launch. The memory footprint isn't too bad and I usually have at least 4 or 5 windows with 3 or more tabs running at once on each.

I haven't actually found any website yet that I can't run.

Firefox 8 doesn't have anything in it I need. (well except for the Third-Party Clean-Up, which stops addons from installing themselves, thats something that should have been in the program from the start).

But again once support for 3.6 stops which they say will happen in April this year, I will consider switching. Well I will more then likely do it before then, but will test it on a secondary machine first for a few weeks. I just got to get around to setting up that second machine.

Many average, non-fail, non-porn sites, get hit by hackers/script kiddies all the time. I believe Fortress Forever forums were hit a time or two. I didn't even notice it till someone mentioned it, why because no script and adblock protected me.

It takes less than a minute to upgrade and brings better web standards support and no doubt more than a few security/bug fixes.

Honestly, I'm not even going to bother making you look like an idiot.

I'll say this instead, I am a Front-End Developer and UI Designer.

Also, that website works in all browser but IE9, because it does not support WebGL.

Well I don't know what the heck about WebGL, IE9 works for me, what's the use of WebGL?
