It'd be nice to see some EP3, but who knows what Valve will show. At our luck, VALVe will just show off Portal: Still Alive for PC as well as X360/PS3 DLC.

I'd really like to see EP3 or some new IP from Valve.

I forgot about Crackdown 2 in that post. It was a pre-rendered trailer, no gameplay was shown.

I'll be posting the EA Press Conference once it's over later today, as well as Ubisoft even later tonight when that concludes.

[ Square-Enix Conference ]
The conference was changed last minute to a Final Fantasy XIV: Online Q&A Session. It is no longer a Press Conference like the others.

[ Final Fantasy XIV: Online ]
- Coming to PS3 and PC, with a simultaneous worldwide release in English, Japanese, French, and German localizations.
- Considering "other hardware", including Microsoft, so it may at some point come to X360, but don't get your hopes up any time soon.
- XIV ties to XI? Same races, but no connections other then that. Similar to actor in different movies.
- XIV does not take place in Vana'deil from XI.
- XI development & support will continue, no plans in the near future to stop that.
- WoW influence on XIV? XIV aims to bring in more casual players as opposed to XI, but XIV is not a casual game.
- No comments on the battle system, whether it's turn-based or action oriented.
- More solo-able content in XIV at launch, though will still have large-scale group or raid content available.
- Servers worldwide or territory specific? Current plans are cross-platform and cross-region (worldwide).
- Beta test confirmed as well. Seems primary focus will be on cross-platform and worldwide servers.
- Considering feedback from XI players for the XIV development.
- XI and XIV communities will remain seperate, but they would like to see them play together.
- No plans for Spanish localization unless there is a large demand. Finding good translators in Japan is hard.
- Plans to add alot of new systems that MMOs don't presently have. What that means specifically is unknown.
- Time and effort spent in porting XI to new hardware (PS3 for example) could be better spent developing a new title, hence XIV.
- XIV trailer shown at Sony conference was partially pre-rendered, and partially in-game.
- The in-game portion of the trailer is the scene with the Galka fighting.
- Intent to have large, variable battles from one vs many to many vs many.
- Continue to develop the character through storytelling without too much weight on their shoulders like in XI.
- Job system will be expanded upon to make it different from XI.
- Looking to support solo, party, raid, 40min game time, all day game time, and content for all.
- No ability to transfer characters from XI to XIV, as expected. Though, character design will be the same.

- Why XIV over other MMOs? Players will fall in love with the world and story that Square has created.
- XIV will NOT be using the PlayOnline system that XI uses, though friends lists will transfer over.
- Pricing for XIV has yet to be determined. To be announced at a later date.
- Release date & beta schedule is not set yet. Don't get your hopes up any time soon.

End of the Square-Enix Conference.

All press conferences for E3 2009 have been completed.
You may find video and blog coverage of them online or on G4.

[ Konami Conference ]

[ Kojima Productions ]
Metal Gear Arcade - Small trailer and gameplay demo shown. Online arcade game to be released in Japan first.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - Trailer shown, same one as before. For the PSP.
Metal Gear Solid: Rising - Trailer shown, same one as before. For the X360, PS3, and PC.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Trailer and gameplay shown. It's in 3D, as opposed to classic Castlevania games. It is developed in collaboration with Konami Europe and Kojima Productions. Release in 2010 on PS3 and 360.

[ General Konami ]
Saw - Trailer and gameplay shown. Tobin Bell from the Saw films (as Jigsaw / John Kramer) discusses his involvement with the game (voice acting) and time spent on the films. Release in the fall on X360, PS3, and downloadable on PC.
Karaoke Revolution - Backwards compatible with DLC from previous titles.
Dance Dance Revolution - Staying on the PS2, since it's very popular there still. An edition for the Wii is being developed as well, and will support the Balance Board. And for people without the balance board, there will be a mode to compensate for it.
WireWay - A DS title where the main character has to defeat an alien and win the heart of his chosen love. Slingshot yourself from wires to progress through the levels. Powerups and combo slingshotting are available. Hidden items, breakable walls, large boss battles, kittens, conveyer belts, strategy mode, and versus modes.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories - Coming this fall to the Wii. Utilizes the Wiimote to create lots of puzzles not possible in previous Silent Hill games. PS2 and PSP versions also shown.

Dance Dance Revolution - 360 and PS3, with 8 arrow pads, 4 of the 8 directions are diagonals. Apparently a Wii edition is scheduled for release as well.

End of the Konami Conference.
