This is a list of known bugs in Fortress Forever. This page list bugs known for the most current versions of the game (excluding beta releases), with the most recent version released at the end.
Note: This list is incomplete.
Bugs present in Fortress forever 1.11
Game bugs
- Grenade timer bugs. Both the sound effects and visual display occasionally fail to work properly when priming more than one grenade at a time. Forum link
- MOTD does not display correctly / cannot be scrolled. Forum link
- Demoman blue pipes do not always explode on contact. Forum link (May have been fixed in FF v2.0)
- Looping and repeating sounds get stuck. (i.e. Pyro's IC, HW Guy's AC) Workaround available, use console command snd_restart. Forum link
- Medic infection or heal plays sound but not not actually go through. From the Known bugs thread. (May have been fixed in FF v2.0)
- While constantly trying to cloak too soon, the timer to cloak again stops instead of counting down. From the Known bugs thread.
- Low health/armor blinking fails to stop blinking occasionally. Forum link
- Grenades hitting against the wall reduces the speed of the grenade. From the Known bugs thread. (May have been fixed in FF v2.0)
- Detpacks sometimes fail to destroy SG's. Forum Link
- Sometimes player spawns 'stuck' in crouch position, but can move normally. It is fixed by pressing the crouch key.
- SG and Dispenser health and ammo level displays do not update when the owning engineer is far away from them. (May have been fixed in FF v2.0)
- Jumping on an enemy or a teammates head when they are on an elevator (even without FF) will kill them. Forum link
- When an radiotagged enemy player is in view and you are dead, the radiotag box around the enemy does not tilt with the player's camera.
- Sometimes you can come back to life after the map change timer has ended and run around until the map change begins. Forum link
- Doors sometimes behave oddly: moving the wrong direction, sinking through floors, flying across the map, or displaying the skybox texture.
- Kills from IC damage caused by lighting the player on fire are registered as suicides. (May have been fixed in FF v2.0)
Interface and HUD
- Flag icons sometimes do not update correctly.
- Popup menus (especially detpack menu?) behave erratically. Forum link
Models, materials, and animations (not in map)
- Single shotgun doesn't have a reload animation. From the Known bugs thread.
- Medic's medikit doesn't have first person animations. From the Known bugs thread.
- AC barrel spin animations do not work in 1st person spectator mode.
- Pyro IC flames or flames from a burning player sometimes glitch and hold in place in midair. From the Known bugs thread.
Map glitches
ff_monkey
- Missing texture on the bottom of a rock in the water. Forum link
- Missing texture by outdoor sniper platform. Forum link
ff_aardvark
- Front base window deals damage if you run into it from the outside.
- Front window appears odd when viewed from a distance (especially through sniper zoom).
Bugs fixed in Fortress Forever 2.0
- Note: This is preliminary information from the Beta threads (here, and here), and some items may need to be added or removed from this list once the final patch is released.
Game bugs
- Medikit fix. Should be much easier to heal people with medikit and spanner now, as friendlies are lag predicted now.
- Suiciding no longer causes you to lose 100 fortress points.
- Dispenser / SG health now displays properly on the HUD even if you are far away.
- Possible fix for CL_CopyExistingEntity crash.
- Death by burning is no longer a suicide.
