These shouldn't be touched until we have a working prematch system, some spare time and we have proved they are worthwhile in terms of reward versus time. I.e. is it worth bothering to implement these? Would they improve the game or offer something the other system doesn't?  Will it bloat the code and make things a lot harder to maintain?

* First: Extending the CS system with the use of "ready" prompts.  Under the currently proposed system, the game begins after the rcon restart round command is issued.  We could modify this or create a prematch variant (such as ff_restartprompt) by prompting each player to press a key (such as jump, fire or special or whatever) to indicate they're ready to play.  Only when all players have pressed the 'ready' key would the round then restart.  Obviously this is totally unsuitable for pubs, as griefers could cause problems.  It's a clan-only possibility.  I think this could be useful IN TANDEM to the proposed prematch system (i.e. a slight variation for those who want it).

  • First: Extending the CS system with the use of "ready" prompts.
  • Second: Traditional prematch system. I think this is deprecated / obsolete.
  • Third: Rebo's idea of a 'ready' thing, where everyone must say the word "ready" for the match to begin. I don't really see the point in this. Rebo says it's useful for synchronising shoutcasts, but I don't really understand the reasoning behind this. Some expansion is required.
