Dated information

Is there a purpose to having separations of hitscan and projectile weapons? I think these designations are remnants of development use of the wiki, and are no longer necessary. Players don't care how the weapon is implemented. Perhaps making clear that weapons like the nailgun are not instantaneous hits would keep things clear enough.

Secondly, is the Tommygun defunct? It's not equipped as default, but could it be a map feature to equip it? Are code and models still in working form? The model seems to be okay still. A dev opinion on this would be nice.

Lastly, someone should add SG/disp to this soon in the 'special' section. I will when/if I reformat the list- if no-one does. --Phisionary 17:54, 28 December 2007 (CST)

I changed hitscan to bullet. That should be much easier for people to understand. --Hirohito 22:14, 28 December 2007 (CST)

Categorization

I'm wondering if any of this stuff should be recategorized at all? I have a few minor questions on the way it is right now.

Is tommy-gun defunct or not? It seems to have everything it needs to operate, there would just need to be a map that manually provided it to the civilian, maybe.

Should the flamethrower be marked as a projectile weapon? It is handled as one internally, and labeled as such in the Reference:Weapons charts.

The SG and disp are not on that list, but are not technically weapons. Neither is the Detpack, really, it is considered a buildable as well, though it is listed as Weapon for categorization here. Maybe that should be changed for consistancy? I dunno.

Well, I'm leaving it alone for right now, but if someone has a good idea of how things should be restructured (on this template or on the wiki in general) then we should work on changing it. --Phisionary 19:30, 29 December 2007 (CST)

Remove Defunct weapons?

I sort-of doubt that stuff will be coming back. --Phisionary 19:09, 31 December 2007 (CST)

Keep them. They have historical value. I'm sure I'm not the only one that loves reading about unused things in games. --Hirohito 19:11, 31 December 2007 (CST)
