First of all check your states local laws. I'm a 2 strike felon here in California and do have the right to vote now that my probation/parole is completed.

Zips Story short form......

I was busted for sales (meth) in Aug of 93 (strike #1). Picked up three days before my sentencing on another meth charge (strike #2). Did my time got out with in two weeks violated my probation/parole on my way back again. Judge let me check into a rehab instead of jail on 8-26-94 That was my last drink drug for almost seven yrs. Drank a beer on Fathers Day 2001 went on a 2 yr run of hell and self destruction. New sobriety date 5-1-03.

US addicts/alcoholics have two main problems, a physical addiction along with a mental obsession. Our bodies don't process drugs and alcohol like normal people. Our bodies store it up and build a high tolerance to it so when the drug level starts dropping it triggers a physical craving. The mental obsession is the mother fucker. Your so used to medicating yourself to deal with real life issues that everybody has your mind tells you that a quick fix will make it better. but as soon as you pick up you unleash the beast all over again just like I did. Now this is not the case for all but for the majority it is.

PS now you fuckers know why I picked the #'s I did back when I joined AE around 1998.

Edit Doc take the extra probation fuck doing more time. Get a new lawyer make sure he doesn't miss anything else and start jumping threw hoops. I had a 5 yr tail the max Ca law would allow.

I wonder if any other people have stories along the same lines? Who knows, maybe FF isn't a game, its a drug gang :P

Thankfully I've not become addicted to anything yet, lets hope I keep that up ;D.

It has its downsides. All of which I'd take over the alternative though. I've seen friends stuck with addiction so I have developed a great deal of respect for anyone who is strong enough to fight it. I don't wear hats, but if I did I'd tip it to you.

a person i know, he almost died from OD on weed/pot. he was recessitated on the third defib. he has now turn his life around, and is now going to college.

Bell there you go. People don't OD on marijuana, it's pretty much impossible. You'd die from smoke inhalation first.

Well I'm sure you could if you tried. Like by extracting the THC from the plant in liquid formand consuming mass quanities either via needle or drinking. not mixing it with water though, apparantly that messes with it.

no one mixes coke and meth much less throwing weed into it. Plus your like what 17? whelp...not looking good at this point

Currently going through court and at my last court appearance, my lawyer told me there was a deal on the table that she (and I TBH) feel is probably the best I'm going to get.

The deal is: 18 months prison and 1 year mandatory parole to finish this shit up and be done once and for all. I have some time served (about 6months) so in actuality I'll probably only serve 3 - 6 months in prison. Which is good, but everything else in my life pretty much goes down the drain. I was hoping there would be another way, but it seems the DA and the court aren't going to let me go w/out some sort of time in. Depending on what my lawyer can do for me I'll either be taking the deal on the 21st of this month or *hopefully* pushing it out another month or so to get everything in line financially for my girl and what not before I go, but really it's just a matter of when I go now.

I know huh...I need to find a replacement!

Good news is I got the water thing fixed, so hopefully I can finish my map before I have to go...would hate to have all that time put in for naught.

Thanks man...I try to be now days. But I will be the first to admit that I was a pretty shitty person for most of my life and if this is what it takes to make up for the mistakes I made then that's what I'll do. I'm just glad that after the 5+ years this has been going on (probation and whatnot) I will finally have a date by which I can say "On that day I will finally be a free person." And really 2 years isn't all that long and it probably will be more like a year and a few months.
