I'm looking to buy some new lungs if anyone body has some they don't need anymore. Maybe you and a friend can each cut out one lung and donate them to me.

Twice in the past 2 weeks 911 has been called because me having asthma sucks.

And that's the end of that story.

I really wanna start workin' with FryGuy with getting lots of cool LUA stuff implemented in FF. There's so much cool stuff you can do in TFC, and to lose any of that functionality would suck, but I think that with this LUA-nut we're gonna do some really cool stuff.

Like, I've been asking them, the coders, about the ability to create hybrid classes with LUA. In TFC, it's a pain in the ass to try and give some classes things they don't normally have, and changing their attributes and all that. I want it to be possible to give any class basically anything. Ya know, doin' stuff like making it so soldiers don't have to reload rockets for specialty deathmatch maps, give any/all weapons to any class, making people fire proof, conc proof, jon's mom proof.

Basically, I want LUA to be able to do everything, haha, but who knows what's gonna be possible?

Oh, and lest I forgot to moleste the best that went to rest, we've had LUA in for awhile, so.. haha, don't go thinkin' we saw Garry's MOD doin' it and then we wanted to do it, but we can't do it with Lauren because she said she was too tired, so we tied her down and we did it anyway because we're no limit 'round here!

Hey there! Tonight, Wednesday October 5th 2005, I'm doing a radio interview with GameSurge Radio. Join #gamesurgeradio on irc.GameSurge.net for the festivities. Things get rolling at 7PM PST - 10PM EST - 2AM GMT.

I'm pretty sure you can ask questions and interact live during the thing. I promise I'll drop some good info on the mod if you guys show up and support the show.

p.s. Enjoy the latest media releases, more good stuff on the way.

I haven't posted in a while, but I have been doing a bunch of stuff behind the scenes. My work isn't super cool like the models and such so I can't really take a picture and show everyone. My work is usually even less visually related since I'm mostly working on the server side stuff with the entity set. That, and I've been busy with school since it started up. I just finished a project in my game programming class at college. It kind of frustrates me, though, because we use Java in that class.. for games. At least it uses OpenGL, so it's not too bad. The game we were required to do was "Worms" aka "Snakes" aka "Nibbles" (if you played the version in qbasic). I added a few bells and whistles to it, but for the most part it was pretty easy.

Anyways, you guys probably read this for Fortress Forever related stuff, instead of my personal life, so I'll try to mention some of that. After my last update, I started working on the entity set for the push map. This involved making sure both teams could pick up the flag, and only each team could capture in their respective points, which was fairly simple to do using the FF entity set. The tricky part was getting the teams to respawn when the flag was captured. However, this is added too.

More recently, I've been working on the hunted entity set. The basics have been done, so that when the hunted gets killed, points are added to the sniper team and frags are given to the player that killed them. This is an improvement over TFC already because that can't happen with their entity set. I just need to prod the trepids into putting an entity up in the escape area (or whatever you want to call it) and hook up the escaping entity stuff will be done too. If you've been paying attention to the mapping forums, you might have noticed I mentioned that it will be possible for even smarter maps to be formed where the teams spawn at a random places in the map each round based on a suggestion from the forums. This won't be the case in the map hunted of course, but a less linear map may use this to its advantage.

I guess I lied a little bit earlier about my work being all server side and not picture worthy. Well, I guess the not picture worthy is still accurate because it's boring to look at, but the announcements to players have been added. This means when you take the flag the map creator can send you naughty messages your mother wouldn't want you to see.. er wait I got off on a tangent there. It's also localized so that #FF_FLAG_CAPTURE get's turned into "You captured the flag of the other team" or whatever that happens to be. I could take a screenshot of this, but you can get the idea of it already.

Other than that, the only other stuff I've been doing is minor bug fixes, such as the water-jumping bug that was annoying the trepids so much when they were making the sewers in hunted and testing them in-game. Lots of these things aren't very interesting as you can probably figure, so that's the main reason I haven't really posted my dev journal recently. Sorry :(

Well it's been awhile since my last entry, I sorta forgot my password and forgot about the dev journals haha sorry... :\

In other news, Rosenborg BK (soccer) beat Ham-Kam in the norwegian top divison, which made me happy because they really needed the points. They also recently beat Steuea Bucuresti to qualify for CL and then they beat Olympiakos in Champions League, lost to Lyon with one goal but can't say thats a too bad result. We got Real Madrid coming up and I really do hope we beat them, they did lose to Lyon so there is hope!

ANYWAY, now for something that you guys might actually care about:
I returned from being idle a while back now and I have been working on some fun and some tedious aspects of the mod lately. I feel things are going really well with my work and that we are making good progress. Soon we will show you some of the things I have finished but because I'm afraid of schtoofa I will not go into detail about what those are yet.

So since I have no images to show you I will just add this snippet from our new PR campain.

So I was layin' on my bed, listenin' to O&A on XM 202, kinda sorta fallin' asleep, when Hurricane Rita decided to go to school in a hummer. And by that, I mean it decided to knock the power out at 5 AM last Saturday. It wasn't even the full man beast of a woman, either. It was barely even a storm at that point. Ooohhh, maybe it wasn't even the hurricane that took the power out. Well maybe there's a killer after you!

So the power went out, and the storm got worse and worse up until about 2 PM when it started to go away. It was pretty much completely gone by late afternoon. The power stayed out for a week. That sucked, but I didn't get it nearly as bad as other people got it.

It sucked not having...computer and internet...for a week.

No computer and no internet make Jon something something.

To try and put it in perspective in a way that everyone can understand, it was kinda like when you're watchin' a funny movie at a theater, and then you realize you're actually lost in the jungle being eaten alive by tigers. That was it...Bucho!

Anyways, FF...

Well, we've scrapped the FFMDK. I talked a little about the reasons why in this thread, which happens to be a tutorial about why and how you mappers out there should use BSPZIP to put your custom content inside your map's BSP. If you don't wanna sift through that thread to find the 1 paragraph about the FFMDK, I'll just quote it here...

Understanding and using BSPZIP is also kind of important because we no longer plan on developing and releasing the FFMDK (Fortress Forever Map Development Kit). Fortress Forever itself is obviously much more important, and FFMDK development would just eat away at precious FF development time. Initially, the FFMDK would have only helped you not use content (first or third party) from other games, like HL2DM, CS:S, and DoD:S. Or if you wanted to use content from those games, you would have had to put that content in your FFMDK directory to have it work, which would have then helped out with the BSPZIP process. We would have eventually put FF content in the FFMDK, but we might have been able to release FF by the time that would have happened anyway. So the FFMDK has been scrapped. It's just more important for us to focus on FF instead.

If you're upset about this, you shouldn't be. It's really not that big of a deal. It seems like it should be, but it's really not. So uh...yeah. Good luck, bro.

Hey, hunted and cz2 are done. Oh wait...no they aren't. They'd definitely be further along right now if Jesse wouldn't have started smokin' them BF2 rocks and if Rita wouldn't have been such a hole. Man, I hate holes. They're so worthless and...so black.

Things are back to normal now, so Jesse and I are gonna map all the way to Vegas, baby. Vegas.

You're so money and you don't even know it.
